#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- The municipal president of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras, announced that more than 60 thousand pots of poinsettias used to decorate public spaces during the Christmas holidays were given to neighbors and visitors to the municipality, after they were removed from parks, sidewalks and avenues.

Personnel from the Public Services Department were in charge of delivering the plants to the neighbors of the communities surrounding the 15 points where Christmas villages were installed for the New Year’s Eve festivities in the municipality.

Vilchis Contreras indicated that they decided to give away more than 60 thousand plants to encourage ecatepenses to take care of the environment and that in this way these specimens would be preserved.

At the beginning of December, the municipal government installed Christmas villages in 15 public spaces in the municipality.

Héctor Rafael Álvarez Martínez, a resident of the Jardines de Morelos neighborhood, said that «the Christmas decorations are very nice, mainly because they bring joy to the children who rarely see this type of flowers in the city and several of the areas where they were placed have been very deserted and this helps to bring them to life and encourage people to take care of the flowers and contribute to nature».
